Joint Proclamation

City of Columbia, Missouri and City of Suncheon

On this day, the 18th of October, 1991, The City of Columbia, Missouri, USA and the City of Suncheon, Chonnam-do, Republic of Korea hereby proclaim the establishment of Sister City Relations. In pursuit of greater understanding through reciprocal contact between citizens, both cities pledge to broaden the range of cultural, sporting, educational and economic exchange programs and to establish a lasting friendly relationship. May the spirit of goodwill represented by the signing of this Proclamation be the foundation of a relationship that will benefit the generations to come and contribute to the welfare of both countries and the peace of the world.
