Neighborhood Leadership Program

The Neighborhood Leadership Program (NLP) will be held again in 2010 with the goal of helping leaders - and future leaders - grow personally and gain skills that will help them in guiding Columbia's neighborhoods.

Sessions are scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Sessions will be held at city facilities; locations will be posted as they are confirmed. Participants are asked to commit to attending all eight sessions.

2010 Schedule:

• January 19 - Opening night: get to know the class and find out what to expect in the NLP!
• February 2 - Understanding local government
• February 16 - Public safety
• February 23 - Code enforcement: protective inspection and environmental health
• March 9 - Development and growth issues
• March 23 - Supporting successful neighborhoods
• April 6 - Capacity building in neighborhoods from the ground up!
• April 20 - Graduation and what's next?

Space is limited to 25 participants. The registration fee is $25, including instruction, materials, and snacks. Scholarships are available. Deadline to apply is December 1.
