Adopt-A-Spot Beautification Beds available for YOU!
If you are interested in adopting a site please email us so we can include you on our "interested list." We will send you an email notification when any new, or existing, beds come available for adoption.
Median of Green Meadows - East of Providence: This is an existing bed with some landscape material. It was mulched in the spring of 2013. Water is not available at this bed. Because this is a high-traffic area, low growing, low maintenance plants would be ideal. This bed was given a thorough weeding in mid-October and is ready for you!! ADOPTION PENDING
Rollins Road median west of Fairview Road: This spot has two existing medians with established landscaping and water! ADOPTION PENDING
Rangeline & Big Bear Boulevard: Two beds are available at this intersection at the northwest and northeast corners. Water is available. These beds have older landscaping and are in need of complete makeovers!!
Business Loop 70 & Garth - NW corner: This planting area is a "blank canvass" ready for a new adopter! It is a relatively small area with water available.
NEW ROUNDABOUTS: These are two new roundabouts available for adoption. The City can help with the cost of plants, likely to install in spring 2014. We would love to work with an adopter in the planning and installation of these beds!! One bed left!
- Clark & Ballenger - Water is NOT available at this time
Chapel Hill Bed 5: a median bed with flowers planted at each end, a section of flowers mid-median, and a large stretch of grass that will, ideally, be mowed by the adopter. This is the fifth bed in the median on Chapel Hill heading west from Scott Boulevard While none of the Chapel Hill beds are connected to water, they are already planted with grass & perennials that do well without watering in normal conditions, and only need maintenance going forward; no new planting should be necessary, but you're welcome to put your personal touch on them as well. ADOPTION PENDING
Highway 763 RAB at Prathersville Road: This bed is a large roundabout that needs an adopter to maintain the existing plants. This bed has water and is the "gateway" for entering Columbia through the north. Highly visible to traffic. Adopter may also want to mow the bed.
Forum Mills-NW Corner: This is an existing bed that needs some TLC. This bed does have water available and is ready for you to take over and add your personal touch. ADOPTION PENDING
