Starting December 1-March 17-Special Olympics Basketball-volunteers are needed to assist with basketball. A commitment to the sports season is required. Knowledge and love for the sport helpful. Monday or Tuesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. or 7-8 p.m. at New Haven Elementary, 3301 New Haven Road, depending on team assignment. A Class A Volunteer Form on file is required for all volunteers. April 9-12 - CERT Basic Class - The Columbia Fire Department will be offering the CERT Basic Class April 9, 10, 11 & 12. Individual Skills: 6-7 p.m.- helping athletes refine putting, chipping, and driving skills. Unifited Partner: 6-8 p.m.-play 9 hole, alternate shot with a Special Olympic Athlete. Unified Partners must have good skills and firm understanding of rules. A Class A Volunteer Form on file is required for all volunteers.
