Ongoing Basketball Skills Mini-Camp Coach's Assistant is needed to help instruct the young men and women (ages 8-12 )in the Basketball Skills Mini-Camp on an ongoing basis. No need to be an expert; just be willing to teach and be confident, with the ability to take control of a group .Teach basic skills, help participants improve and become more team-oriented as well. Practice times are 1st, 2nd & 3rd Sundays of each month: 2:30 – 4:00pm, at the Armory (701 E. Ash). To get involved, please contact Camren Cross at 874-6378.
Thursday, December 5: Cherry Hill Holiday Festival: Seeking two volunteers for "Mr. Bag-It" for the Cherry Hill Holiday Festival Both would work same shift: 5-8 p.m. One volunteer for the costume and the other to assist in navigating Mr. Bag-It around the festival.To get involved, call 874-6271 or email pw-volunteer@GoColumbiaMo.com.
Saturday, December 7-Santa Hotline- Individuals or small groups are invited to help with this fun event keeping the magic of Christmas for kids who call Santa. Answer calls in character as Santa, Mrs. Clause, an elf, etc. so parents can be " in the know"! Approximate time: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., 2- hour shifts are available. Calls will be answered at Paquin Tower. Males voices in particular are needed for Santa! Thanks for your interest, the positions are filled!
Saturday, December 14 - Columbia Crawdads Litter Pickup - Volunteers are encouraged to wear a Santa hat, a holiday scarf or drape themselves in garland for a fun, holiday theme event! We will have a special treat for those who come adorned for the holiday. Individuals of any age and groups of all sizes are welcome to register. We will confirm the details with you a few days before the event. The City will provide bags and gloves -- you share your time and energy to care for our environment! Register Here
Saturday, December 14-TreeKeepers Project-We will be planting ball and burlap trees at Twin Lakes Recreation Area. Because the tempatures might be a little colder, we will start at 9:00 a.m.
December 31 -Eve Fest Columbia! Help with this event to ring in the new year! Volunteers are needed to help with the 5K, sell buttons, serve as ushers and help with children's activities. Shifts start at approximately 6 p.m. and are 2-3 hours in length ending at midnight.

Wednesday, January 15- Set up for the Columbia Values Diversity Celebration, approximately 3-5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Expo Center (across from Columbia Mall). We can use the help of up to a dozen volunteers to put event materials and centerpieces on the tables.
Saturday, January 25 - Rhett's Outdoor Challenge - 7K Trail Run - Volunteers are needed to help with registration, staff aid stations, serve as run course monitors and volunteer at the finish line. Most volunteer shifts are 8:15-10:30 a.m. with registration 7-9 a.m. The race starts and ends at Anitmi Field at Cosmo Park. This is a great event for youth and families!

Tuesday, February 11-TreeKeepers Class-Following the classwork, participants agree to share 36 hours of service on tree projects in City parks. Classes are scheduled for Tuesday, February 11 (6-8 p.m.), Thursday, February 13 (6-8 p.m.), and Saturday, February 15 (9-11 a.m.). All classes are held at the Activity & Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash Street.
Starting February 2-May 18-Special Olympics Swim Team-there is a specific need for 2 male volunteers with competitive swim or instruction experience. Commitment for the season is required. Work one-on-one with athlete under the guidance of the Head Coach. Sundays from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Hickman Pool. Volunteer positions are limited and fill weeks before the season begins. A Class A Volunteer Form on file is required for all volunteers. Volunteers must contact Jody Cook at email@example.com.
Starting March 5-May 14-Special Olympics Volleyball-volunteers are needed to assist with volleyball. A commitment for a sports season is required. Wednesday's from 6:00-7:15 p.m. at The Armory Sports Center, 701 East Ash. Knowlege and love for the sport is helpful! Volunteer positions are limited and fill weeks before the season begins.
