Columbia Water & Light has added more solar projects and we have opened up 250 more blocks of Solar One energy!
By completing this form, you are agreeing to have the City of Columbia charge you $3.35 a month on your utility bill. One block of solar power is 100 kilowatt hours which will cost you $40.20 for one year. You can purchase from one to nine blocks of solar power, if the energy is available.
If you already subscribe to Solar One, you do not have to renew your subscription. Existing Solar One customers will be charged the new, lower rate. If you are an existing Solar One subscriber and want to purchase additional blocks of power, add the additional amount to the form below.
The charges for Solar One will be a separate line item on your utility bill and will be coded SOL1. This fee will be in addition to the charges for electric consumption and other city services.
If you are moving out of town and need to cancel your subscription to Solar One, please contact Columbia Water & Light at 573-874-7325 or by e-mail at wlmail@GoColumbiaMo.comYou can voluntarily leave the program by contacting Columbia Water & Light. The amount charged for participation in the program can change from year to year, depending on the cost of providing the solar energy to Columbia. The intent of Solar One is to provide a market for solar energy in Columbia that will be able to take advantage of cost efficiencies that may develop over time.
