Work is performed under the general supervision of the Public Health Nursing Supervisor and the medical direction of the City's Medical Director or other attending physicians.This is professional nursing work in a generalized public health nursing program.
PARTIAL LISTING OF MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse by the Missouri State Board of Nursing, and one year of nursing experience (an associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing plus additional experience may be considered in lieu of the BSN); or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of professional public health nursing. Knowledge of physical assessment, communicable diseases, immunizations and health maintenance. Ability to deal effectively with the public, health care providers and community agencies. Ability to deal effectively with individuals representing a broad cultural and socioeconomic spectrum. Excellent work history and attendance record. Possession of a valid Missouri driver's license and an excellent driving record. Possession of a dependable vehicle and a telephone at residence.
