The mission of the Office of Neighborhood Services is to improve the quality of life for Columbia’s residents through fairly and swiftly enforcing city codes related to residential life and build a sense of community by offering valuable volunteer opportunities, providing resources for neighborhood leaders to solve issues independently and managing donations to support our community.
Building permits will not be available to be picked up or paid for during this time. Afternoon inspections will still be scheduled by calling and leaving a message at 573.874.7474 by 12:00 p.m. on September 10 with the permit number, type of inspection, and contact name and phone number. Building permits will not be available to be picked up or paid for until after 1:00 p.m. on September 10.
The Office of Neighborhood Services is part of the City of Columbia's Community Development Department and focuses on addressing code enforcement issues, supporting affordable housing efforts, strengthening neighborhoods, and teaming those efforts with volunteers.
