The Law Department provides legal advice and support to the City Council, city staff, and commission on issues relating solely to city business. The city counselor and assistant city counselors are also responsible for the management of litigation involving the city; preparing and enforcing city ordinances and resolutions; and preparing contracts and leases.

Guidelines

Cases will be assigned based on the most serious charge brought against the defendant. The assignment for the overwhelming number of cases will be apparent, but when multiple tickets bring assignment into question, just call our office and ask.
