[All day event] Barkitecture
- Description:
- For years, creative people have been using their talents to design and build functional doghouses for their four-legged friends. This phenomenon has been commonly referred to as “Barkitecture". AIA Mid-Missouri's Committee on the Environment is hosting it's first Barkitecture event in the spring of 2011 to benefit the Central Missouri Humane Society.
Doghouses created by local Architecture firms and groups will be on display Sunday, April 3 - Sunday, April 10 on the lawn outside Columbia's courthouse. Doghouses will be auctioned off to the public to benefit the Central Missouri Humane Society.

- Helps promote the veterinary profession, educate the community about animal and public health and encourage participants to explore the human-animal bond. Open house offers a fun and education-filled day with entertainment, such as the Purina Incredible Dogs, Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital tours and enjoyable childrens activities, all at no charge.

- Free kite-flying event for the whole family, sponsored by Parks and Recreation. A limited number of kites will be available to children who do not have one to fly. Prizes awarded in various categories.
