Description:

Join the City of Columbia's TreeKeepers and Parks & Recreation staff at the ARC Parking Lot, 1701 W. Ash for the annual Arbor Day Tree Give Away.  Individuals may receive two trees of different species including:  Northern Red Oak, Pecan, Bald Cypress, Flowering Dogwood, Eastern Redbud, Blackhaw Viburnum, River Birch, Blackgum. The giveaway starts at 8 a.m. and continues until all trees are given away.

Description:

Parks and Recreation's annual event for kids. Trucks of all types will be available for kids to explore. Free event, held rain or shine.

Description:

Free kite-flying event for the whole family, sponsored by Parks and Recreation. A limited number of kites will be available to children who do not  have one to fly. Prizes awarded in various categories.

Description:

The Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a public planning meeting for the replacement of the Maplewood Barn (destroyed by fire on 4-5-10) located in Nifong Park. This is a drop in meeting to give the public the opportunity to view the proposed plan and offer their comments. No formal presentation is planned. Interested parties are invited to drop by anytime between 6-8pm at the ARC.

Description:

Registration is required for this Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by Parks and Recreation and Mizzou's Parks and Recreation students. Cost is $7 per child, bring your flashlights and baskets. Prizes will be awarded.

Ages 3-5: 7:30-9 pm
Ages 6-7: 7:45-9 pm
Ages 8-10: 8-9 pm

Description:

The Family Fun Fests return to Flat Branch Park in 2011. Fun for the whole family with a different theme each month. Free!

Enjoy the bungee run, art wall, activities and more.  Ages 12-19 can enter the talent contest in one of the following categories: music, dance or spoken word.
