Prior to the adoption of Ord. 19072 on 06/05/2006, Section 16-202.1 read as follows.


    (a)     A person commits the crime of interference with a police dog or police horse  if:

     (1)    Knowing the dog or horse  is under the control of a police officer, the person obstructs, interferes with or prevents by any means or method the dog or horse  from carrying out the commands of the police officer in charge of the dog, or

     (2)    Knowing a police officer is in charge of a police dog or police horse , the person obstructs, interferes with or prevents by any means or method the police officer from maintaining control of the dog or horse .

    (b)     Interference with a police dog or police horse  is a class B misdemeanor.
