Prior to the adoption of Ord. 17522 on 12/02/2002, Section 2-251 read as follows.


    The bicycle/pedestrian commission  is hereby established.  The commission shall be composed of fourteen (14) members.  One member shall be a member of the planning and zoning commission chosen by that commission;  one member shall be a member of the parks and recreation commission chosen by that commission; one member shall have knowledge of street construction and maintenance; one member shall have knowledge of school districting;  five (5) members shall have knowledge of bicycling,  bicycle safety, or bikeways; and  five (5) members shall have an interest in pedestrian safety and infrastructure.  All members shall be qualified voters of the city. The members succeeding the original members shall be appointed by the city council for three (3) year terms. The members from the planning and zoning commission and the parks and recreation commission shall be voting members but shall not be eligible to serve as officers of the bicycle/pedestrian commission.
