Project Description: Parks and Recreation joins a multi-stakeholder partnership focused on creating an innovative open space/green infrastructure plan for the Columbia/Boone County area. Partners include MDC, Greenbelt Land Trust, and Boone County. Estimated total cost of plan is $100,000 with P&R providing up to a maximum of $40,000 for the plan. An implementation phase is proposed for FY14, with P&R providing $50,000 toward the $150,000 implementation budget.

Project Notes: The committee chose "Our Natural Legacy" for the plan name.
Project Status: The City executed an agreement with Greenbelt Land Trust of Mid-Missouri on October 1, 2012 to develop an open space conservation plan. According to the agreement, the final plan is due by December 30, 2013. Greenbelt Land Trust of Mid-Missouri has requested an extention to complete the draft plan.
