Trail: 1.2 miles, concrete
Phase I of the Hominy Creek Trail is a 1.2 mile section (final plans include a 2.3 mile trail) that begins at Green Valley Drive (near Stephens Lake Park) and runs along the Hominy Creek to where it currently ends near Lansing Avenue (near Woodridge Park). The trail passes under Highway 63, and East Broadway/Route WW, and provides access to WW, St. Charles/Richland Roads and Lansing Avenue.
GetAbout Columbia completed the connections on the north (which routes under Old 63) and south ends of the Old 63 Pedway. These connections complete the link between Hominy Creek Trail and Hinkson Creek Trail. Trail enthusiasts can now travel from Lansing Avenue (east of the Women's and Children's Hospital near Woodridge Park) all the way to the Katy Trail!
Phase II of Hominy Creek Trail is funded and administered by GetAbout Columbia. When constructed, Phase II of the trail will continue from the current terminus, near Lansing Avenue, and follow the Hominy Branch to where it passes under I-70. This section will add an additional 1.1 miles to the trail and add connections to Hillsdale Road, Tara Lane, and the Links apartment complex.
Benches along the Hominy Creek Trail are available for adoption. Click on the links below for a map with the bench locations and for program information (cost, plaque information, sample photos, order form, etc.). The chart below shows which benches are available for adoption.
