At the regularly scheduled city council meeting on Monday, May 19, a public hearing was held to discuss and accept feedback on the proposed College Avenue Safety Enhancement project . After public and staff discussion, the city council voted to authorize Public Works to proceed with "Option A" which is a raised median with stone and weather resistant fencing on top, two mid-block crossings with HAWK signals, and the removal of left turns from College onto Rosemary, Wilson, and Bouchelle. The project will now move into final design phase with construction anticipated to begin in late spring of 2015 after the University of Missouri winter semester.
Interested Parties Meeting #2 was hosted on Tuesday, February 25 from 4-7 PM at 701 East Broadway (City Hall) in the Mezzanine Conference Room.
An Open House/Interested Parties meeting was conducted on Tuesday, November 19 in the mezzanine conference room at City Hall with 48 people joining the design team and staff members to share information. The information from this meeting and via the electronic or email forms will be considered during the design phase of the project.
The next scheduled meeting will occur after the design team create up to three designs. Interested Parties meeting #2 will occur on Tuesday, February 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 701 East Broadway in the Mezzanine Conference Room.
