The 107 FastCAT bus route will detour on Sunday, April 21 due to a road closure on Elm St for the Columbia Area Earth Day Festival. The route will deviate east on Locust St., and south on Hitt St. to meet its regular route.
Elm Street will be closed between Sixth and Ninth Streets from 6:30am until 8:00pm Sunday for the event. Bus stops within the detoured area will not be serviced during the closure. Riders can find the closest bus stop and track the bus at RideFastCAT.com.
Columbia Transit can help residents lower their carbon footprint. According to the American Public Transportation Association, a single commuter switching to public transportation can reduce a household's carbon emissions by 10%, or up to 30% if he or she eliminates a second car. When compared to other household actions that limit CO2, taking public transportation can be 10 times greater in reducing this harmful greenhouse gas.
A map detailing the detour is attached.
