Contact: Columbia Public Works
Columbia Public Works is asking residents to move vehicles off of 1st and 2nd priority snow routes tonight.
After speaking with forecasters, it appears that Columbia could receive 3-5 inches of snow overnight. We are encouraging residents to move their vehicles from priority routes before they retire for the evening in the event the snow fall exceeds the 2 inch criteria set by ordinance.
Moving vehicles off of 1st and 2nd priority snow routes will greatly assist Public Works crews in clearing roads which have been identified as priority routes for Public Safety responses, and as major traffic corridors. The sooner and more efficiently we can clear priority routes, the sooner we can move into residential areas if snow fall amounts exceed 4 inches.
We urge our media partners to assist us in broadcasting this information as soon as possible.
Residents can sign up for automatic alerts concerning snow routes at our new website, Comosnow.com.
